game of cat and mouse

It's a crystal clear and everything is still, from the tops of the mighty tree leaves swaying in a clam breeze to the bottom of a translucent lake. The calm lake acts as if it were a mirror reflecting everything around upon it's glassy surface. A small silvery mouse emerges from the trees and scampers along the side of the lake desperate to evade its pursuer. The mouse finds success as its stalker was lost amongst the entangled trees and takes shelter in some tall wavy grass, the mouses small heart still pounding from it's encounter. Soon after a sleek feline with tabby like fur strolls out from behind the trees on the shore of the lake in search of it's prey. The feline smells the sir for it's prey and locates it in a instant. The cat pins it's ears to its head and slowly lingers towards the spot where the mouse hid expecting it to run again. The mouse sees its pursuer again and hesitates for a moment and then bolts back for the trees hoping not to get caught. The cat then act swiftly and pounces on the mouse, catching the small prey in it's furry paws. An owl on its perch not to far spots the cats prey and decides to get in on the event and get a meal and swoops silently in a attempt to get a easy meal. The cat perks it's ears up and meets the owls gaze as it's gliding towards the cat. The tabby then jumps off it's prey to avoid the owl and the mouse gets away.

In a game of cat and mouse the cat doesn't always win in the end.
